Prevalence—COVID-19

OTRU conducted a survey of over 7000 youth and found that a majority of youth increased their use of substances including cigarette smoking and vaping over the COVID-19 pandemic and that 55% of youth increased their use of two substances, indicating a need for increased prevention and cessation efforts among youth.

A simulation study found that implementing graphic health warnings in the US would be associated with 539 000 smoking-attributable deaths averted and 7.9 million life-years gained.
