This is the report of the Tobacco Strategy Advisory Group, established by the Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport in March 2009, to inform the Ontario Government’s New Directions in Tobacco Control 5-year plan. The recommendations for a comprehensive tobacco control strategy found in the report are based on the advisory group’s review and discussion of changes in the tobacco control environment since the original SFO Strategy was initiated, evidence-based findings of the Scientific Advisory Committee, and, where appropriate as long-term strategic advice, the work undertaken by other related working groups or advisory groups.
