Monitoring Reports
Each year, OTRU produces a series of Monitoring Reports to
examine the progress of the Smoke-Free Ontario Strategy. On the basis
of qualitative and quantitative evidence, these reports document changes
in the province's tobacco control climate, including policy and program
initiatives and tobacco-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours.
Reports are available under Monitoring Reports in the Reports section.
Logic Models
OTRU has developed macro-level logic models related
to the prevention, protection, and cessation aspects of the Smoke-Free
Ontario Strategy. These specify commonly accepted relationships among
various resource inputs, strategic components, outputs, and short-, medium-,
and long-term outcomes. They provide a rationale for developing various
aspects of the strategy.
Monitoring Indicators
We have identified several indicators for
monitoring the progress of tobacco control in Ontario. Data for these
indicators is collected from population surveys conducted by various
organizations at different frequencies. This compendium of indicators
is updated regularly to provide the most up-to-date information.
For each indicator we provide a definition,
source, and links to relevant sections of our monitoring reports.
