In response to requests from the Ontario
Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport, OTRU is developing a system for ongoing
collection, analysis and reporting of performance data related to Smoke-Free Ontario Strategy programs and projects. This information serves the management
and accountability needs of managers and policymakers at provincial,
regional, local, and program management levels. It provides essential
data on inputs, resources, implementation processes, reach, outputs,
and, in some cases, initial outcomes, to these stakeholders.
Performance measures for each program are derived, as closely as possible, from indicators developed in Ontario by OTRU and its partners, and from tobacco control performance indicators used internationally, such as those disseminated by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Measures are developed collaboratively by program personnel with OTRU support.
