OTRU’s extramural research program includes projects on capacity-building, second-hand smoke, health professional roles, tobacco marketing and tobacco taxes.

From January 2004 to June 2006 OTRU staff led nine externally-funded projects totaling over one million dollars. We currently receive funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the National Cancer Institute of Canada, the Canadian Tobacco Control Research Initiative, and Health Canada.
